Fiber for Fiber Lasers

StockerYale supplies a complete suite of fibers for the fabrication of fiber lasers. The suite includes rare-earth doped active fibers, mode-matched photosensitive fibers for fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs), as well as passive fibers for the delivery of pump and laser light.

Our rare-earth fiber products are manufactured using a unique, proprietary doping method, which provides for high rare earth concentration with excellent dopant homogeneity and uniformity.

Evaluation of our active fibers reveals excellent performance in regard to quantum conversion efficiency, hydrogen aging, and humidity and temperature resistance.

Photosensitive Double-Clad Fiber

We offer double clad fibers with photosensitive cores, for the recording of FBGs. These fibers are matched to our YDC fiber products. Silica diameters have been chosen to ensure reliable, low-loss splices.

Custom designs also available.

Pump Delivery Fiber

We provide multimode step index fibers with standard core sizes that match the diameters of the inner claddings of our YDC fibers, for pump delivery.

PD-200 - For use with YDC-1100-8/230.

The multimode core diameter of these low-loss high NA fibers can be customized to any value between 50 and 2000 microns, to suit specific fiber laser designs.

Photosensitive Laser Delivery Fiber

StockerYale supplies application-specific single mode fibers with photosensitive cores, for the writing of FBGs in the output arm of fiber lasers. A wide variety of core diameters, NAs and cladding diameters are possible.
