Reduced-Clad Standard Single-Mode Fiber

SM-RC-1310-S1

Select Cut-Off Single-Mode Fiber
  • Reduced cladding diameter (80 microns)
  • NA, core diameter and MFD matched to standard telecom fiber
  • For operation at 1310 and 1550 nm

StockerYale's SM-RC-1310-S1 reduced cladding single-mode fiber has the same waveguide parameters as the standard SMF singlemode fiber commonly used in telecom. While the majority of optical fibers have a silica outer diameter of 125 microns, this product, like other StockerYale "RC" (reduced clad) products, has a silica outer diameter of 80 microns. The coating diameter is reduced from 245 to 165 microns. The reduced size makes the fiber suitable for use in volume-constrained applications such as hydrophones and current sensors.
