Applications:

A double-clad, high-efficiency Yb-doped fiber, the YDC-1100-6/130 is currently used in CW and pulsed fiber lasers. StockerYale’s low-index high-adhesion polymer serves as the outer cladding, providing an NA of 0.48 for the pump radiation. The helical pump modes are effectively scrambled by the presence of flat sections in the boundary between the silica inner cladding and the low-index polymer outer cladding.
