Applications:

A double-clad, high-efficiency Yb-doped fiber, the YDC-1100-8/230 is appropriate for use in moderate power fiber lasers, such as those typically used in laser marking applications. StockerYale's low-index high-adhesion polymer serves as the outer cladding of the YDC-1100-8/230, providing an NA of 0.48 for the pump radiation. The helical pump modes are effectively scrambled by the presence of flat sections in the boundary between the silica inner cladding and the low-index polymer outer cladding.
